Shenandoah
The legendary American country music band Shenandoah has been producing chart-topping hits for decades. Marty Raybon and Mike McGuire founded the band in Muscle Shoals, Alabama in 1984 with bassist Ralph Ezell, keyboardist Stan Thorn and guitarist Jim Seales. Over the course of their illustrious career, they recorded nine studio albums and placed 26 singles on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. The band is known for their hit songs “Two Dozen Roses,” “Church on Cumberland Road” and “Next to You, Next to Me” as well their classics “I Want to Be Loved Like That” and the Grammy-winning “Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart” duet with Alison Krauss. Today their legacy continues as original members Raybon and McGuire reunite to launch a new chapter in Shenandoah’s storied career.
Billy Dean
Born in the small town of Quincy, Florida, Billy Dean started his music career at the age of eight, singing with his father’s band, the Country Rocks. His first big break came in 1988 when he won Best Male Vocalist on Star Search, hosted by Ed McMahon. Over the course of his more than 25-year career, he has released 11 albums and has been recognized with several awards and nominations. In 1992, he was nominated for a Grammy for Song of the Year for “Somewhere in My Broken Heart” which went on to win Song of the Year at the American Country Music Awards. That same year, Billy was named Top New Male Vocalist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music awards and nominated by the Country Music Association for the Horizon Award. Four years later, Billy won a Grammy for Amazing Grace, A Country Tribute to Gospel, an album featuring Martina McBride, Allison Krauss, the Charlie Daniels Band and more. In 2017, Billy was inducted as a member of the Florida Artist Hall of Fame.
Wade Hayes
Singer and songwriter Wade Hayes has navigated a complicated journey that has produced some of the most potent songs of his already impressive career. Surviving stage IV colon cancer, not just once but twice, has given Hayes a unique perspective of the fragility of life which is embodied in the songs on his album Go Live Your Life.
Hayes was in his early 20s when he began churning out such enduring hits as “Old Enough to Know Better,” “I’m Still Dancing with You,” “On a Good Night” and “What I Meant to Say.” In 2009, he released the critically acclaimed independent album, A Place to Turn Around, and continued to tour extensively until his world came to a screeching halt when he was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer in the fall of 2011. After extensive surgery and debilitating chemotherapy, Hayes battled his way back to health only to have the cancer return in the fall of 2012. He’s now cancer-free again and has used his experience to create new, powerful songs. His title track on his album Go Live Your Life is an upbeat anthem that celebrates living life to the fullest. Hear it performed live at Inn of the Mountain Gods.
