Step Back in Time at Fort Stanton’s Annual Historical Event!
Enjoy a day filled with living history as Fort Stanton hosts its annual Fort Stanton LIVE event featuring costumed re-enactors from the Civil War and Indian Wars eras. Enjoy captivating demonstrations, engaging presentations, and lively music that bring history to life.
Explore a diverse array of exhibits from authors, historians, photographers, and artists, along with various historical vendors showcasing their crafts and handmade goods. Local food vendors will be on-site to keep you fueled throughout the day.
Don't miss a special performance by dancers from the Mescalero Apache Tribe on the parade grounds. Other Mescalero members will be serving delicious Indian tacos and displaying traditional arts and crafts.
Originally scheduled for July, this event was postponed to September 28 due to fire conditions in Lincoln County earlier this summer. Celebrate Fort Stanton’s rich history and the grand reopening of the newly rehabilitated Nurses Quarters. Explore new exhibits and a slideshow of historic images. Children can enjoy nurse—and medical-themed activities throughout the day.

In honor of the dedicated nurses who served at the Fort, a blood drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring the Vitalant bloodmobile. The Friends of Fort Stanton Group will provide cookies and juice.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 16 and younger. Tickets are available online now: Purchase Tickets.
Free admission on the day of the event is available for Culture Pass Holders, Blue Star Families, New Mexico Museum Foundation Members, New Mexico Disabled Veterans, and Foster Families.
