Based at Fort Bliss, Texas, the 1st Armored Division Band traces its heritage from 1943, when it was activated in the early days of World War II. It has since been reactivated to sites of military engagement around the world, from Southeast and Southwest Asia to Europe, providing music for ceremonies and troop entertainment. At home, the 1st Armored Division Band regularly provides music to surrounding communities in Texas and New Mexico to enhance unit cohesion, soldier morale, and to provide musical support for civil and military operations, among other initiatives.
Whether playing the latest in concert repertoire, marching in military reviews and parades, or performing contemporary jazz, the band continues to uphold the motto: “Performance With Pride.”
