Luis Ángel, better known as “El Flaco”, has one of the most distinguished voices in banda music and a charisma that has won the hearts of the public for two decades. At age 8, Luis Ángel began to develop a special interest in music when he heard the masterful voice of maestro Vicente Fernández who inspired him to study singing and opera at the School of Arts in Culiacán, Sinaloa.
Over a span of 16 years, El Flaco left an indelible mark on the era of one of the most influential bands in the genre. However, in 2020, he made the pivotal decision to venture forth as a solo artist, debuting with his first single “Reflexión.” The track garnered substantial acclaim on digital platforms, making an impressive entry into radio rotations in both Mexico and the United States.
His growing prominence led to a series of notable collaborations with Grupo Firme, including hits such as “El Tiempo no perdona,” “Para ti papá,” and “El que te amó,” collectively amassing almost 100 million views. His solo track “Hasta la miel amarga” has accumulated over 356 million views on YouTube, while on Spotify, it has surpassed 125 million streams, a testament to the consistent success and popularity synonymous with Luis Ángel “El Flaco.”
In 2021, the release of his song “Lamberto Quintero” set a new milestone, amassing 1 million views within a few hours on his YouTube channel, which boasts a staggering 1.71 million subscribers.
Throughout his solo career, he has collaborated with esteemed figures in the Mexican regional music scene, including Luis Antonio López “El Mimoso,” Pancho Barraza, Cuisillos, Banda Renovación, and Banda La Sinaloense by Alex Ojeda. Notably, the collaboration with Banda La Sinaloense, “Me Vas a Extrañar,” garnered 2 million views within a month and a half.
