RUIDOSO, N.M. - Ruidoso is best known for Ski Apache and the Ruidoso Downs Racetrack and Casino, and visitors are well-served by both. But my family visited the village and its surrounding countryside during a stretch of less-busy summer weekdays, indulging our interests in history, Southwestern cuisine, fine art, live music, shopping and of course beautiful mountain scenery.
