Experience Living History at Fort Stanton Historic Site

Experience history come to life at this engaging monthly program at Fort Stanton Historic Site. The day begins with a flag-raising ceremony at 10 a.m., followed by a guided tour of the internment camp at 11 a.m. At 1 p.m. in the chapel, special guest Christopher Ardent, interpretive ranger at Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument, presents Celestial Navigation and the Age of Discovery.

This dynamic talk explores navigation methods from the 1200s to today, with hands-on demonstrations using living history models. Ardent also highlights key explorers and global powers from the Age of Exploration.

Admission is $7 for adults. Free for children 16 and under, Native/Tribal Affiliations, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, and MNMF members.
